Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 29, 2026
US Dental Data ("we," "us") publishes verified dental practice and provider information sourced from the public NPPES NPI Registry, and sells CSV exports of that data. This page explains what information we collect about you as a visitor or buyer, what we publish about dental providers, and how each is handled - they're different things, and this policy is deliberately clear about which is which.
The Provider Data We Publish
Every practice and provider record on this site comes from the NPPES NPI Registry, the public database maintained by CMS (the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) under the National Provider Identifier program. This is professional/business contact information - practice name, address, phone, specialty, NPI number - that providers themselves submitted to a federal registry as a condition of billing insurers, not private consumer data. We don't scrape it from anywhere else, enrich it with third-party data, or collect anything about a provider beyond what NPPES already publishes. See our Methodology page for the full sourcing and refresh details.
If a provider wants their listing corrected or removed, the record has to be updated at its source - NPPES - since we republish exactly what's on file there and a correction there is picked up automatically on our next refresh. You can also contact us and we'll point you in the right direction.
Information We Collect About You
What we collect depends on how you use the site:
- Just browsing. If Google Analytics is enabled on this deployment, it collects standard aggregate usage data (pages viewed, approximate location, device/browser type) under Google's own privacy practices. You can opt out of this at any time using the cookie banner shown on your first visit, or by clearing your browser's local storage for this site. We don't otherwise log or store anything tied to your identity for browsing the site.
- Using the contact form. The name, email, and message you submit are forwarded directly to our team via a private notification and are not stored in our database. We use them only to respond to you.
- Using the chat widget. Chat conversations are stored so we can reply to you (including after you close the tab and come back). You're identified only by an anonymous random ID kept in your browser's local storage - not by name or email unless you type one into a message yourself. We're notified of new chat messages, but the conversation itself lives in our database, not a third party's.
- Buying a CSV export. Checkout and card payment are handled entirely by Paddle, our payment processor - we never see or store your card details. We keep a record of the purchase itself (which dataset, the amount, and the email Paddle tells us made the purchase) so we can issue your download link and handle support requests.
Cookies & Local Storage
We use your browser's local storage for a few things: remembering your light/dark theme preference, the anonymous chat visitor ID mentioned above, and your cookie banner choice. None of these are used for advertising or cross-site tracking, and none leave your browser except when the chat ID is sent back to us so we can load your own conversation.
If Google Analytics is enabled, it runs by default on your first visit (consistent with standard US privacy practice) and a cookie banner discloses this and lets you opt out at any time - your choice is remembered in local storage and applied on every later visit.
How We Use Information
To operate the site, respond to messages, deliver purchased CSV exports, and keep the service running reliably and securely. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information (contact form submissions, chat messages, purchase records) with third parties for their own marketing purposes. The provider data we publish is, separately, dataset we sell access to by design - that's the product - but that's business/professional data from a public registry, not information about our site's visitors.
Third-Party Services
We rely on a small number of third-party services to run the site, each under their own privacy policy:
- Paddle - payment processing for CSV purchases.
- Google Analytics - aggregate site usage analytics, if enabled.
Data Retention
Purchase records are kept for accounting and support purposes. Chat conversations are kept so we (and you, if you return) can see the history. Contact form submissions aren't stored by us at all beyond the notification they generate. Provider data reflects whatever NPPES currently publishes as of our last refresh - we don't retain "deleted" or historical versions of a provider's record.
Your Rights
You can ask us what information we hold about you, request its deletion, or ask us to stop contacting you, by reaching out through the contact form or emailing us directly at support [at] usdentalproviders [dot] com . If you're a dental provider asking about your own listing, see "The Provider Data We Publish" above - corrections go through NPPES, not us directly.
Children's Privacy
This site is intended for business use and is not directed at children. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes to This Policy
If we materially change how we collect or use information, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
Contact
Questions about this policy, or a removal/correction request, can go to support [at] usdentalproviders [dot] com or through our contact form.
